PDF Page Resizer

Resize PDF pages to A4, Letter, or custom dimensions. Free online PDF page resizer. No signup, 100% private, works in your browser.

How it works

The PDF Page Resizer changes the page dimensions of a PDF — scaling all content proportionally to fit A4, Letter, A3, A5, or any custom width × height. Use it when you need to standardize mixed-size pages in a document, resize a large-format PDF to print on standard paper, or adapt a PDF to specific submission requirements.

PDFs can contain pages of wildly different sizes: a report assembled from a desktop PDF and a mobile screenshot PDF contains pages ranging from 595pt (A4) to 1920px wide. Printing this on a standard office printer produces inconsistent output. This tool normalizes all pages to one consistent size.

How to use it: upload your PDF. Select the target page size from the presets (A4, Letter, A3, A5, B5) or enter custom dimensions in mm, in, or pt. Choose the scaling behavior: - Scale to fit (maintain aspect ratio): content is scaled to fit within the target dimensions, with white margins added for any unused space - Scale to fill (may crop): content is scaled so it fills the target dimensions, cropping any overflow - Stretch to fill: content is distorted to match the target exactly (use with caution)

All content (text, images, vector graphics) is transformed proportionally — no quality loss for vector content, slight softening for rasterized image content if scaling up.

Privacy: page resizing runs in the browser using pdf-lib.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will resizing a page distort the content?
Only if you use 'Stretch to fill' mode. Use 'Scale to fit' (maintains aspect ratio with margins) or 'Scale to fill' (maintains aspect ratio with cropping) to avoid distortion. 'Stretch to fill' changes the aspect ratio and will distort text and images.
What is the difference between A4 and Letter size?
A4 (210×297mm, 595×842pt) is the international standard used in most of the world. US Letter (8.5×11 inches, 612×792pt) is the North American standard. A4 is slightly taller and narrower than Letter. Documents designed for one may have small margins when fitted to the other.
Can I resize only specific pages, not the entire document?
Yes. Enter a page range in the settings to apply the resize to specific pages only. The remaining pages are preserved at their original size.
My PDF has mixed portrait and landscape pages — can I standardize them all to A4 portrait?
Yes. Set target to A4 portrait and enable 'Auto-rotate landscape pages' — landscape pages are rotated 90° and scaled to fit the portrait A4 dimensions. All pages output as portrait A4.
