Privacy Policy
Scrollshot — Full Page Screenshot & Annotate — Chrome extension. Last updated September 24, 2026.
The short version
This tool collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics and no advertising, and we run no server that receives your work. Everything you enter stays on your own device.
1. What is covered
This policy covers the Scrollshot — Full Page Screenshot & Annotate Chrome extension (version 2.4.0). It sits alongside the site-wide privacy policy.
2. Data we collect
None. We do not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal or usage data, and we operate no server that receives your input.
The extension makes no network requests of any kind. Disconnect from the internet and every feature still works.
3. What is stored on your device
So the tool remembers your setup between visits, the following is saved locally, via Chrome's extension storage:
- Your preferences: default format, capture mode, image quality, scroll delay and filename pattern
- The capture in progress, held in the browser's local storage while the editor tab opens and pruned automatically every 30 minutes
If Chrome Sync is switched on, Chrome may sync the extension's settings across your own devices under your Google account. That is handled by Google under your Chrome settings and never reaches us. Clearing your browser data, or removing the extension, deletes everything listed above.
4. What the extension reads
- The page you invoke a capture on: its dimensions and rendered pixels, so the slices can be composed into one image
This reading happens inside your browser, only on the page you are looking at, and only to produce the result shown on screen. Nothing read from a page is sent to us, and nothing is kept beyond what section 3 lists.
5. Permissions and why they exist
activeTab— Access to the single tab you invoke Scrollshot on, at the moment you invoke it. No broad host permissions are requested.scripting— Measures page dimensions, neutralises fixed and sticky elements and scrolls the page during capture — then restores it.downloads— Saves the finished image or PDF to your Downloads folder.storage— Stores your settings and the in-progress capture locally.clipboardWrite— Copies an image to your clipboard when you press Copy. It never reads your clipboard.contextMenus— Adds the right-click “Capture full page screenshot” entry.notifications— Confirms that a keyboard-shortcut capture finished when no popup is open.alarms— Schedules the half-hourly cleanup of temporary capture storage.
Site access is limited to:
- Only the tab you invoke Scrollshot on, at the moment you invoke it — it requests no standing access to any site
6. What we do not do
- No analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or advertising
- No accounts, sign-in or email collection
- No selling or sharing of data, because there is no data to sell
- No sending the pages or numbers you work on to us — we never receive them
- No remote code: the extension ships all of its code inside the package
7. Children
This is a general-purpose tool for people running a business or a website. It is not directed at children, and it collects no personal information from anyone.
8. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above changes with it, and the change is noted in the updates list on the tool page.
