Text Watermarker

Add custom text watermarks to images. Free online text watermark tool — set font, size, opacity, and position. No signup, 100% private, browser-based.

How it works

The Text Watermarker overlays custom text onto any image — with full control over font, size, color, opacity, position, and rotation. Use it to add copyright notices, brand names, draft labels, event details, or any text to photos before sharing or publishing.

Watermarking is essential for photographers who share previews before final delivery, designers who share mockups before payment, businesses that want brand-consistent imagery, and content creators who need to attribute photos with their handle or website.

How to use it: upload your image. Type your watermark text. Choose font family, size (px), color, and opacity (0–100%). Select the position: center, top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right, or tiled across the entire image. Optionally set the rotation angle (-90° to +90°). The preview updates in real time. Download.

Tiled watermark: the tiled mode repeats the watermark text diagonally across the entire image at regular intervals — the most effective protection against cropping out a corner watermark.

Opacity: at 20–40% opacity the watermark is visible but doesn't heavily obscure the image. At 60–80% it's more intrusive but harder to remove. At 100% it's opaque and most easily cropped. For client previews, 30–50% with a tiled pattern is the recommended combination.

Font stacking: the tool includes a selection of web-safe fonts (Arial, Georgia, Courier, Impact) and system fonts detected on your device. Impact is the classic bold watermark font. For brand consistency, use the same font as your logo.

Privacy: your images are processed in the browser Canvas API. No image or text is transmitted to a server.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best opacity for a watermark on client preview photos?
30–50% opacity is the standard range for preview watermarks — visible enough to identify the owner and discourage unauthorized use, but not so intrusive that the client can't evaluate the composition. Pair with the tiled pattern for maximum protection against cropping.
How do I add my website URL as a small watermark in the corner?
Type your URL in the text field, select 'Bottom Right' as the position, set size to 18–24px, opacity to 40–60%, color to white, and add a slight shadow for legibility on varied backgrounds. This is the standard footer credit used by photographers and designers.
What fonts are available?
The tool includes Arial, Helvetica, Georgia, Times New Roman, Courier New, Impact, and system fonts detected on your device. Impact is the traditional watermark font due to its high legibility at small sizes on varied backgrounds. For brand consistency, upload a system font if your brand typeface is installed.
Can I watermark multiple images with the same settings?
Yes. After setting the watermark parameters, you can drag and drop multiple images one at a time and each downloads immediately with the same settings applied. Batch watermarking (all at once) is a planned feature.
