How it works

Writing social posts when inspiration strikes, then manually posting them at optimal times days later, requires storing content across notes apps, docs, and DMs with yourself. The Social Post Scheduler Draft Tool gives you a local-first draft board: write posts for any platform, tag them with a scheduled date and time, mark their status (Draft / Scheduled / Posted), and export the full queue as a CSV for import into a real scheduling tool.

How it works: 1. Click "New Draft" and select the platform (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube Community). 2. Write your post content — the tool shows the platform's character limit and counts remaining characters in real time. 3. Set a target publish date and time. 4. Save the draft — it appears in your board sorted by scheduled date. 5. When ready, export the entire queue as a CSV file compatible with Buffer, Hootsuite, or Metricool's CSV import.

Draft board features: - Status filter: view All / Drafts / Scheduled / Posted - Platform filter: see only Instagram posts or all platforms at once - Bulk status update: mark multiple posts as Posted after a scheduled day passes - Character count badges: at-a-glance red/green indicator for posts approaching platform limits - Notes field: per-post notes for hashtag sets, image filenames, or reminders

Privacy: all draft data is saved in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server. Drafts persist between sessions on the same device and browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from Buffer or Hootsuite?
Buffer and Hootsuite are SaaS tools that connect directly to your social accounts and post on your behalf — they require account permissions and charge monthly fees. This tool is a local draft board for writing and organising content. It exports a CSV that you can import into Buffer or Hootsuite's bulk scheduler. Think of it as a private writing workspace rather than a publishing platform.
What does the CSV export format look like?
The exported CSV contains one row per post with columns for: Platform, Scheduled Date, Scheduled Time, Post Content, Status, Notes, and Character Count. This format is compatible with Buffer's CSV import (requires Date, Time, Message columns) and Metricool's bulk upload. You may need to add or rename columns slightly depending on the specific tool's import requirements.
If I clear my browser data, will I lose my drafts?
Yes. Drafts are stored in localStorage, which is cleared when you clear browser data or use private/incognito browsing. To prevent loss: export your drafts as CSV regularly or use the JSON export option to back up your entire draft board. Restore by importing the JSON file in a future session.
What is the optimal posting time for each social platform?
Generalised benchmarks: Instagram peaks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9–11am and 6–8pm in the audience's timezone. TikTok peaks on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 6–10pm. LinkedIn peaks on Tuesday through Thursday between 8–10am (professional context). Twitter/X peaks on weekdays between 8–10am and 7–9pm. However, your own analytics (when your specific followers are online) will always outperform generalised averages.
